Children and Adolescents Counseling

Children and adolescents go through many life changes and challenges in their lives and surrounding environment.  They experience emotional distress while undergoing these changes and transition.  It is important to recognize and understand children's persistent emotional distress before it becomes difficult to manage. Therapy can be an effective measure to resolve the problem when support from parents, teachers, or friends fails to do so.  Treating children and adolescents requires a special level of training, patience and high potential to connect with both children and their families. Children and adolescent counselors are the ones who provide their young clients with appropriate coping skills to manage emotional and mental health. By learning about children's mental health issues Child Counselors or Psychologists are trained to interact and help children in a most effective way.

The challenges that children and adolescents face include:

  • Attention disorders,
  • Learning difficulties and behavioral issues

It can negatively impact children’s educational aspirations and developmental milestones if their social issues, emotional issues and psychological distress are left untreated. Children of all ages, from toddlers to adolescents can be benefited from interactive counseling sessions.
